Easter Holiday Opening 2017
Too many Easter eggs? Too many children running about? Why not come to Wendover Pool to let off steam and burn off the calories?
In the Easter Holidays we will be running family splash sessions from 2.30 until 4.00 pm every afternoon apart from the Bank Holiday Weekend. We are still keeping open our Tuesday and Thursday morning and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions for those wanting a quiet time or keen to keep racking up the lengths.
We do our utmost to ensure the smooth running of this timetable, but as we are staffed entirely by volunteers, do check back here and at Facebook for updates in case we need to cancel. Happy swimming!
You can check all our opening times.
Closed Sunday 26th March
We’re very sorry, but there are no volunteer lifeguards available on Sunday the 26th of March 2017, and so we cannot open the pool for the afternoon Family Splash session.
New Lunchtime Sessions
If you need a refreshing break after a hard morning’s work, why not come and try our new lunchtime sessions?
Working with the RAF, we are opening the pool up for length swimming on a Monday and a Tuesday, from noon to 1 p.m. on a trial basis.
The sessions will start on Monday 27th February 2017 and will run until at least the Easter Holidays. Swimming will be free during the trial.
Half Term Fun!
If you are bored by the half term holidays and stuck at home in the miserable weather, why not come to our nice warm pool for a spot of exercise?
In the February half term (Monday 13th February – Friday 17th February 2017) we will be running family splash sessions from 2.30 until 4.00 pm every afternoon. But regular swimmers, don’t despair, we are still keeping open our Tuesday and Thursday morning and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions open for those wanting a quiet time or keen to keep racking up the lengths.
We do our utmost to ensure the smooth running of this timetable, but as we are staffed entirely by volunteers, do check the website for updates in case we need to cancel. Happy swimming!
Early Birds July 2016
We’re really sorry, but because our usual Early Birds volunteer is going on holiday, we’ll not be able to offer those sessions on Thursday the 7th, Friday the 8th, or Wednesday the 13th of July 2016.
Pool to Reopen on Friday
Good news! The gas leak has been fixed and everything has been checked. All our boilers have fired up and seem to be working OK. The pool will reopen tomorrow, Friday the 12th of February 2016.
The pool will remain closed tonight (Thursday the 11th of February) purely to allow everything to settle down and for the actual pool temperature to build up. It’s a lot of water to heat up!
So, thank you for your patience and understanding, enjoy your swimming again from Friday morning.
Gas Leak Causes Temporary Closure
There is a problem with the gas supply to the whole campus, and as a consequence supply to all buildings on site has been cut. We use gas to heat the pool water, the showers and the building – and so we have been forced to temporarily close.
We expect to remain closed all of today (Wednesday the 10th of February 2016), tomorrow (Thursday) and possibly also Friday. We will provide updates as soon as we can, both here and on our Facebook page. Please follow our Facebook feed for the most up-to-date information.
